Rica Paralejo took to Instagram to share an insight on parenting, highlighting the importance of love over expensive material things.

On Instagram, Rica posted a photo of herself with her children, her two sons fighting over a bamboo stick.

In the caption, Rica narrated how her son saw an activity in his book that encourages them to write thank you cards. When she asked to whom would he write one, he mentioned his Tito Charlie, "for giving me the bamboo stick."

It was an aha moment for Rica. Despite all his latest toys, her son remembered a random bamboo stick, which was not even bought with money.

The other day my son saw an activity in his book that encourages kids to write thank you cards. I asked him if he wanted to write one and to whom would he like to address it. His answer? “To Tito Charlie. For giving me the bamboo stick.” ???? After all the Lego sets, Ninja Warrior Training devices, and more, he remembers a random bamboo stick that my brother in law did not even buy. ???????????? See, in this photo that my sister in law snapped of us, nagaagawan pa sila sa bamboo stick na ito. All to say na sa parenting, it does not take much in some places, and in other places it does. So mahirap ba siya o madali? BOTH. Kasi minsan mas madaling bumili kaysa maglaro, magdumi, magbantay. ???? @yasminperucchetti thanks for this priceless photo ????

Rica highlighted that when it comes to things, a simple bamboo stick is often enough for kids.

She said people sometimes think that parenting is expensive, but in reality the top priority to be given to a child is love.
