Arnel Pineda addresses bashers after brother’s arrest in QC drug bust

Arnel Pineda addressed bashers on social media after his younger brother Rusmon was arrested for allegedly possessing illegal drugs.

“To the bashers who chose to cowardly succumb to prejudism & unkindness while hiding conveniently in the cloak of your keyboards & computer screens, there are more helpful & useful things to do, like facing your precious mirror once in a while,” said the Journey singer in an Instagram post on Thursday.

“Who knows,” Arnel added, “you might find yourselves as imperfect as me, my family and everyone else..”

The singer then thanked his “real friends & supporters” who know “that our friendship is eternally unbounded by time & space.”

Thanking his supporters, he said: “You don’t even know how much all of you have hugely blessed us by sending kind & comforting words. May God be with you all always.”

According to James Agustin’s report on “Quick Response Team” Wednesday, two suspects, Rusmon and Brgy. Sacred Heart tanod Rojimar Frilles, were caught with 20 grams of shabu amounting to Php136,000 in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.

Rusmon was caught selling shabu while Rojimar was found driving the motorcycle that Rusmon used.

Police officials said they’ve been investigating the suspects for almost three weeks before making the arrest.

“Mga previous na nahuli namin sa lumalabas na isa sa kinukuhanan, isa sa source nila si Rusmon Pineda,” said Quezon City Police District Station 10 SDEU chief Police Captain Nazarino Emia.

Rojimar defended himself and said he was merely accompanying Rusmon as a “public servant” and didn’t know that he was carrying drugs. Meanwhile, Rusmon gave no comment on the matter. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
