Love truly knows no distance, especially for this couple who finally met again after seven months at a border but had only 15 minutes to be with each other.

According to the “24 Oras” report of Ivy Hernando of GMA Regional TV’s “Balitang Amianan,” the photos featuring the reunion of Dennis Alba and Erika Francisco at the border of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte recently went viral.

In the social media post, Erika described her happiness at again meeting Dennis, who she last saw in person just before the quarantines began.

“Parang gumaan yung pakiramdam noong nakita ko siya, kasi hindi kami sanay na hindi kami nagkikita eh,” said Dennis, who hails from Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Amid their excitement at finally meeting again at the checkpoint, they were strictly guarded to ensure that health protocols were still observed.

“Tinitiis mo na lang na hindi siya mahawakan man lang or ma-hug, kasi dapat talaga may social distancing, no physical contact,” said Erika of Pinili, Ilocos Norte.

Their reunion lasted only 15 minutes, but if there’s anything they learned from their relationship, it’s that distance didn’t matter as long as they loved and trusted each other.

“’Ika nga nila trust the process and always stay faithful and loyal and as they say, the best is yet to come,” said Erika. – RC, GMA News
