Jinri Park reveals struggles of adapting to living in a new country: 'Everything was back to zero for me'

Jinri Park took to Instagram to reflect on what 2020 has been for her, as she adapts to living in a new country with her husband.

"2020 was a rough year for all of us, for me it was a year full of challenges. I had to move to a new country, where the only person I know is my husband," Jinri wrote in the caption of her post sharing photos of herself at the beach.

"The pressure of trying to find a new job, a new set of friends, adopting to a new culture, new family, new jiujitsu gym, everything was back to zero for me," she added.

The former actress said she "struggled a lot, am still struggling to figure things out."

She admitted she is not yet sure "what career path to choose and what to do with my life. Feels like I’m back in high school, when I had to choose a course for college."

Despite her struggles in her career, Jinri said the hardest thing for her is relationships especially since she said she takes time to open up to new people.

"Building new ones and finding new friends at this age and with my personality (I’m shy and take very very long to open up) has caused me anxiety plus other things," she said.

Jinri is hoping that "2021 will be more opportunities, slow but sure progress."

She ended her note with a hopeful New Year message to her followers.

"Wishing everyone a better year. You are not alone. We all struggle, but in the end we will get through. God only gives hurdles you can jump through," she wrote.

"You are worthy and someone loves you! Happy new year! New year, not new me but an old me, trying to be a better me," she added.

The former actress and host is now based in Sydney, Australia, with her husband John.

They tied the knot in a simple ceremony amid the pandemic, with only the groom’s family as witnesses to their union.

In July, she revealed that she had been working as a waitress.

In an Instagram post last year, Jinri said she’s “working 2 jobs and also teaching jiujitsu twice a week."
