Joyce Pring reveals she discouraged Juancho Triviño from courting her in the beginning

Joyce Pring revealed that she discouraged Juancho Triviño from courting her at the start of their relationship.

In a "Tunay Na Buhay" episode, the host said that she told Juancho what she wanted in life and if he didn't have the same goals, then they shouldn't start dating in the first place.

Joyce said, "Before we started dating, I told Juancho, ''Wag mo na ako ligawan. 'Pag nanligaw ka, gusto ko na magpakasal after two or three years kasi 'yun na 'yung plano ko sa life so kung manliligaw ka tapos for fun lang na dating. You don't see yourself getting married, 'wag nalang kasi sayang lang oras ko, sayang lang din oras mo' (Before we started dating, I told Juancho, 'Don't court me. If you court me, I want to get married after two or three years because that's my plan in life so if you're going to court me just to date for fun. You don't see yourself getting married, then let's not do this because you'll waste my time and you'll waste your time.')"

But according to Juancho, he already felt something with Joyce back when they met and worked as co-hosts for GMA's morning show "Unang Hirit."

"Nagulat ako noong nagba-banter kami, that very first episode na naghihirit ako, sumasagot siya (I was shocked when we were bantering, that very first episode together, that when I'd tease her, she'd answer back)," Juancho said.

He added, "Parang nagkaroon kaming dalawa ng sariling understanding (It was like we had our own understanding)."

Soon afterwards, they began to date and not more than a year into the relationship, they were married.

The couple tied the knot in February 2020 in a garden wedding at Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City.

Last February, they announced they were expecting their first child. —Kaela Malig/JCB, GMA News
