Man visits quarantined wife daily by showing up at her hotel window from afar
A man expressed his love for his quarantined wife by showing up at her hotel window from afar every day.
According to Athena Imperial’s “24 Oras” report on Wednesday, Diane Bel Ortiz-Catayong was required to go on isolation for 10 days after visiting her parents in the United States.
To comfort his wife, Yuzon stopped by the hotel where she was staying and stood at the same spot on the road every day where Diane could see him from her window several floors up.
She said he would drop by as early as 7 a.m. before he went to work. He also sent her food even if he’s busy.
Even from afar, Diane said she felt Yuzon’s love because of his efforts.
“Feel ko yung kilig nung hindi pa kami kasal (it’s as if we’re not married yet),” she said.
Diane said Yuzon never changed even if they were already married for nine years and had three children.
“Ang dami kong na-realize do’n sa time na ’yon na ’yung husband ko, sobra palang pinapahalagahan pa rin ako,” she said.
[I realized that time that my husband still cares a lot for me.]
On their ninth anniversary, her eighth day of quarantine, her husband came over at midnight and surprised her with a bouquet of flowers.
Diane said Yuzon’s efforts made her feel at ease amid the COVID-19 threat.
“Syempre napa-paranoid ka eh kasi baka mamaya meron akong nasagap na virus,” she said.
[Of course, I’m paranoid that I might have gotten the virus.]
According to her, when her husband notices that she’s sad, or when she’s not able to answer his calls right away, he checks up on her by waving at her through her window to see if she’s okay.
She said keeping the love alive in a relationship was important and she hoped others would do the same.
Diane suggested doing things, even simple gestures, to express love for each other. She also said it was important to celebrate special occasions and make an effort to have quality time, no matter how busy their day was.
“Don’t forget to call them, kamustahin mo (ask how’s their day),” she said. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
