Oyo Boy Sotto recalls dad Vic’s advice on wedding day: ‘Huwag mo lang ako gayahin, OK ka’

Oyo Boy Sotto has recalled the advice given to him by his father Vic on the day of his wedding to Kristine Hermosa.

In an interview with the press for "Daddy's Gurl" via Zoom on Tuesday, Oyo was asked what advice Vic had given to him that he wouldn't forget.

"Ang pinaka-hindi ko makakalimutan na advice ni Daddy nung wedding namin ni Kristine, sabi niya 'ang pinaka-advice na mabibigay ko sa 'yo, 'wag mo lang ako gagayahin, OK ka,'" Oyo told entertainment reporter Gorgy Rula who asked the question.

"Daddy naaalala mo 'yun ah," Oyo told his father Vic who was also present at the virtual press conference.

"Hindi naman biro 'yun, seryoso naman 'yun," Vic replied.

"Kaya nga sineryoso ko nga," Oyo then told his dad.

"Ok beri good," said Vic.

When asked about his family's relationship, Oyo said, "thankful ako sa nangyari kasi yung mga nangyari sa 'kin ng kapatid ko, kasi hindi naman kami magiging ganito kung hindi dahil sa mga sitwasyon na 'yun, sa totoo iba-iba eh 'yung mga nangyayari sa 'ting mga tao."

Oyo also said he was grateful for the relationship he had with his dad right now.

"Happy ako kasi iba 'yung relationship namin ni daddy ngayon, mas matibay, mas masaya kami, kumbaga mas gugustuhin ko na na ganito, kumbaga walang regret, walang halong gamit, inis or hate, we accepted it, lahat ng nangyari sa 'min eh kami ng kapatid ko," he said.

"We're happy na ganito 'yung kinalabasan, maaring hindi nagkatuluyan 'yung nanay namin tsaka si daddy pero ang importante masaya kami ngayon kung nasaan kami," he added.

At the latter part of the interview, when Vic was asked if he thought Pauleen was the one, he answered, "oo naman sa edad kong ito. Alangan naman."

In August, Oyo and Kristine welcomed their fifth child Vittorio Isaac.

Oyo and Kristine tied the knot in 2011. They welcomed their first biological child, Ondrea, and adopted their eldest son, Kristian Daniel, in the same year.

Oyo and Danica Pingris are Vic's children with Dina Bonnevie, while Paulina Sotto Llanes is his daughter with Angela Luz. Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, meanwhile, is his son with Coney Reyes.

Vic's youngest daughter Talitha is his daughter with his wife Pauleen Luna.

Oyo and Vic are co-stars in "Daddy's Gurl" along other celebrities including Maine Mendoza, Wally Bayola, and Angelika dela Cruz.

New cast members will be joining "Daddy's Gurl," which will premiere new episodes on Oct. 23, including Prince Clemente, Prince Carlos, Jem Manicad, and Carlo San Juan.

"Daddy's Gurl," directed by Chris Martinez, will also be celebrating its third anniversary this month. – RC, GMA News
