Rey ‘PJ’ Abellana clarifies ‘one night stand’ comment about Tom Rodriguez

Rey “PJ” Abellana has clarified some comments he made regarding the relationship of his daughter Carla Abellana and son-in-law Tom Rodriguez.

On Aubrey Carampel’s “24 Oras” report Tuesday, the veteran actor admitted he had made a mistake in a recent interview where he was quoted as saying Tom had a one-night stand.

“At first, may nakarating po at nalaman ni Carla na may issue na one night stand na involved si Tom. Si Tom naman was able to explain kay Carla na wala naman din pong katotohanan po ito at naiwasan naman din niya na mangyari ’yon. So wala pong natuloy na one night stand, according to Tom’s side,” said Rey.

“’Yun po ang scenario ng issue na one night stand. Napa-short cut lang po, napa-abrupt lang po pagkasabi ko kay Nanay Cristy [Fermin] na napag-isipan nang masama,” he added.

Rey said he had yet to hear about Carla’s side regarding the marital problem, but she sent him a message after his interview came out.

“She was mad, she was questioning me why I came up that way? Of course I explained it to her right away and after my explanation, explaining my side, hindi na naman din siya nag-message uli,” he said.

He also revealed that Tom had visited him and asked for his advice.

“He came over to talk to me and explain his side. He would cry along with his explanations and everything and he keeps on saying he wants his wife back, he wants Carla back, because he loves Carla very much. That’s why they settled down,” he said.

Rey advised the couple to open their communication lines to fix their relationship problems.

“Importante na may communication silang dalawa, i-work out na nila ’yan, so much the better na ma-normalize na ulit sila at maipatuloy na nila ang buhay mag-asawa nila,” he said.
