Couple marry amid cancer battle; wife recovers after wedding
This couple have proven that they will be sticking together in sickness and in health.
According to Mark Salazar’s “24 Oras” report Thursday, Wilrene felt unusual weakness and was brought to the hospital on April 17. Little did she know that on the same week, her boyfriend MJ Baldemor was planning to propose to her.
Despite the uncertainty of the situation, MJ did not hesitate one bit about carrying on with his plan.
Sabi ko, ‘oo kasi pinag-pray ko ’to eh. Magtitiwala ako sa sinabi ng Panginoon sa ’kin, sa sagot niya sa panalangin ko,’” he said.
MJ finally popped the question on April 23, and Wilrene could only cry tears of joy.
After the proposal, Wilrene immediately underwent a week of chemotherapy with MJ by her side. In fact, MJ was also her platelet donor.
Kinompute kasi mismo ni doc,” MJ said.
While spending days in the hospital, Wilrene and MJ planned their wedding until they tied the knot on June 18.
As if love and magic were truly in the air, Wilrene’s condition got better shortly after the wedding. In her recent visit to the hospital, she was told that cancer wasn’t detected in her body anymore.
A happy wedding for the two lovebirds, indeed. Congratulations and best wishes! – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
