Hidilyn Diaz is the happiest bride-to-be in her bridal shower
Hidilyn Diaz is glowing with love and happiness as her friends, dormmates, and #TeamHD family threw her a surprise bridal shower.
On Instagram, Hidilyn shared a video compilation of the moments from the event, which they dubbed as “Lift the Miss, Goodbye.”
The Olympic gold medalist thanked her friends for the surprise, and recalled the moments when they helped her through the roughest moments.
“I remember the time when I was broken-hearted, crazy in love with all the guys I fall with and [ended up falling] on stairs,” Hidilyn said. “[I] get drunk and drink a lot of coffee just to share with you that I felt empty[,] that I need someone to [talk] to. You were there when I'm down and when I'm happy, thank you for being my family here in Manila and thank you for the love."
“You [witnessed] my brokenness and you [are also witnessing] my happiness with my husband-to-be Julius," she added.
The weightlifter and her coach-fiancé Julius Naranjo are set to tie the knot on July 26, exactly one year after Hidilyn’s historic Olympic gold win.
The couple got engaged in October 2021, two months after the women's weightlifting event of the Summer Games in Tokyo, Japan. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
