Sassa Gurl didn't have to come out to her parents: ‘na-realize na lang nila in the end’

Sassa Gurl has a loving support system behind her relatable and hilarious content.

In an interview on “The Mangahas Interviews,” our favorite Mima opened up about her coming out story and her biggest fans, her family.

Sassa Gurl identifies as trans, and “actually, hanggang ngayon, hindi ko pa nasasabi sa [parents ko] na trans ako.”

But still, Sassa had a unique coming out process.

“Very, I think, hindi napagusapan,” she said. “Na-realize na lang talaga nila in the end na ‘ay, bakla ‘to. So tanggapin na lang natin.’”

Sassa said that she just lived life as her true self and that she didn’t have to actually say, “ma, bakla ako.”  Because of this acceptance, the content creator said, “happy na rin na po ako sa ganun na set up.”

According to Sassa, her parents watch her videos, especially her mom.

“Sinasabi din po ng mga ka-amiga niya din po. And then ayun, minsan dumadaan sa feed niya,” she said.

She added that her parents are super happy with her success.

“Na-achieve ko na yung matagal ko nang pinapangarap, mga pinaplano ko noon. So ayun, happing-happy din po ako,” Sassa Gurl said.

In the same interview, Sassa also shared how her mom has been a housekeeper for over 30 years, and worked hard for Sassa to finish her communication degree at Far Eastern University.

Sassa will headline the upcoming "Drag Den Philippines" as the Drag Runner.  — LA, GMA Integrated News
