'Black Rider' Ruru Madrid wants to be remembered forever: 'Ako 'yung tao na hindi sumuko sa pangarap niya'
Ruru Madrid seems destined to portray Elias Guerrero, the "Black Rider."
As the TV series is set to premiere on GMA Telebabad tonight at 8 p.m., Ruru made an appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Monday.
During the show, he reminisced about a time when he prayed to become an actor.
“Hindi ko po inexpect na mararating ko po ‘yung kung nasaan ako…Hindi ko makakalimutan, nasa loob ako ng church at nangagarap lang ako na sabi ko, ‘Ama, sana maging artista po ako kasi gusto ko matulungan ang pamilya ko. Na kahit bata palang ako, gusto ko na sila matulungan,” he shared.
[I never expected to reach where I am today. I won't forget the time I was inside a church, simply dreaming and saying, 'God, I hope I become an actor because I want to support my family. Even at a young age, I wanted to help them.]
The actor expressed profound gratitude, not only for achieving his initial dreams but for receiving even more blessings in life than he had dared to hope for.
“Before, ang pangarap ko maging artista, pero ngayon, Tito Boy, ang pangarap ko, I want to be remembered forever, na kahit wala na po ako sa mundong ito, meron akong maiiwan na mark sa mundong ito na ako ‘yung tao na hindi sumuko sa pangarap niya.”
[My dream used to be just becoming an actor. Now, Tito Boy, my dream is to be remembered forever. Even when I'm no longer in this world, I want to leave a mark that shows I never gave up on my dreams.]
Unquestionably, Ruru embodies the essence of the Black Rider. On Instagram, he revealed that "Black Rider" is also a story about family. Beyond being a series about delivery riders and rising above injustice, it underscores the dedication and sacrifice made for the family and their aspirations.
“Dahil ang puso naman ng kwentong Pilipino at teleseryeng Pilipino ay sumesentro sa pagmamahal natin sa pamilya, na gagawin natin lahat para sa ating mga mahal sa buhay,” Ruru said on Instagram.
[At the heart of Filipino stories and teleseryes is our love for family; we'll do everything for our loved ones.]
“Black Rider” also stars Matteo Guidicelli, Kylie Padilla, Yassi Pressman, and Katrina Halili, among others.
