Alfred Vargas, wife Yasmine Espiritu welcome 4th child following pregnancy complications
Alfred Vargas and his wife, Yasmine Espiritu, welcomed their fourth child, Aurora Sofia, over the holidays.
On Instagram, Yasmine shared a beautiful photo of herself and the little girl captured by the proud dad.
In the caption, she wrote the baby's full name and the hashtags #wearefinallyhome and #dec26.
Fellow celebrities, including Iza Calzado and Rodjun Cruz, congratulated the couple in the comments section.
Earlier, Yasmine opened up about the complications she experienced during her pregnancy. She said that she started having a lot of regular contractions last Halloween.
"Fortunately, my meds were able to stop them. But during my check-up, my cervix shortened to 2 cm, the shortest it has ever been," she wrote in a separate Instagram post.
She was put on a strict bed rest and was scheduled for another ultrasound, where they were finally relieved after finding out that her cervix went back to 2.9 cm.
Yasmine continued, "As we entered our eighth month, I got regular contractions again, they were 10 minutes apart and Alf rushed me to the hospital."
They spent a week in the high-risk pregnancy unit, where she got steroids to help the baby's lungs.
Doctors suggested that they stay at the hospital until she gives birth, but they agreed to let Yasmine go home if her oral medicine managed the contractions.
"It's been a long and arduous road," she said. "I've been on bed rest for almost 30 weeks now. In and out of the hospital. I'm tired, physically, emotionally and mentally."
The couple has three other children: Alexandra Milan, Aryana Cassandra, and Alfredo Cristiano.
