Janno Gibbs marks dad Ronaldo Valdez's 40th day of passing

Janno Gibbs honored his late father, Ronaldo Valdez, on his 40th day of passing by sharing a throwback photo of themselves working together.

The photo posted on Instagram is from the set of their recent project together.

“Shooting this emotional scene w/ my Tatay was hard enough. Watching it now is even tougher,” Janno wrote in the caption.

“Your presence in the film is undeniable," he added. "Today is the 40th day of his passing."

Valdez was reported dead on December 17. He was 76.

Janno then confirmed his father's passing, asking that people "respect our privacy in our grieving moment."

Before his father passed, the pair worked together on "Itutumba ka ng Tatay Ko," which marked Janno’s directorial debut.

In a previous interview with “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” Janno said that they still pushed through with releasing the film a month after his dad’s death because it was “the perfect time to show it para mabura 'yung last horrible image of him.”

"Sabi ko nga this is the best parting gift he can ever give me. Supporting his son's dream. It was very special kasi first time ko mag direct, daddy ko pa. You know, an award-winning actor. So I had this very nice memory of him," he said.
