Gabby Eigenmann recalls fond memories with the late Jaclyn Jose

Gabby Eigenmann took a moment to remember his fondest memories with the late veteran actress Jaclyn Jose.

In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, Gabby recalled how he would sneak out his half-sister Andi Eigenmann to attend family gatherings of the Eigenmanns.

"Ako 'yung tumatakas kay Andi, ako 'yung humihiram kay Andi kay Tita Jane 'pag may family gathering ang mga Eigenmann. I would step up and represent 'pag hihiramin ko si Andi," he said.

According to Gabby, he was one of the first people whom Andi called to inform about her mom's condition and the actor quickly went to Jaclyn's house only to find her lifeless on March 2, which coincided with his 46th birthday.

He also remembered how the veteran actress was a mother to Andi and her half-brother Gwen.

"It may not be a hundred percent perfect. It was hard kasi Andi wanted to have a life, si Gwen also wanted to have a life. 'Di ba 'yun 'yung best gift na binigay ni Tita Jane kasi they learned how to be independent on their own," Gabby said.

Gabby said the family is discussing bringing Jaclyn's remains to Siargao where Andi lives.

"May sinabi si Andi na, 'Uwi na tayo, nanay.' 'Yun ang di ko makakalimutan, that hit everyone especially me, 'yung 'Uwi na tayo, nanay' ang daming ibig sabihin nun," he added.

Gabby and Andi share a father, the late actor Mark Gil. Gabby is his son with Irene Celebre.

Born Mary Jane Guck, Jaclyn died on March 2 at 60 years old. Andi revealed in a press conference that she died due to a heart attack.

Tributes have poured in from Jaclyn's colleagues in the showbiz industry. Several Kapuso stars such as Barbie Forteza, Gina Alajar, and Alden Richards have gathered in her wake on Friday.
