Glydel Mercado reveals Tonton Gutierrez’s go-to excuse when he’s too tired for sexy time

Glydel Mercado and Tonton Gutierrez were the cutest couple as they appeared on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”

On Friday’s episode, the couple fielded lots of questions about their relationship, and even gamely answered those about intimacy.

When the King of Talk, “Sino ang unang nangangalabit?” Tonton said Glydel was actually the shy type. 

“Pero nangangalabit din minsan,” the actor added.

The couple, who has been married 20 years, agreed they have refused each other for sexy time, and that it's perfectly OK. 

“Respect ‘yon eh," Tonton began. "If she refuses, it’s not because there’s something na ano or ‘di ba you get offended."

Glydel unexpectedly turned candid and said, “Pero minsan, ‘pag ako ‘yung nangangalabit,  [sasabihin niya] ‘My, promise, bukas.’ Nakakainis, ‘di ba?”

“Tapos sasabihin ko, ‘Bukas? Ta’s sasabihin mo bukas na naman,’” she said continued teasing her husband.

In his defense, Tonton said there are times when one is just too tired, and fake-blamed his work for tiring him out. “Araw-araw na taping kasi ‘to eh,” he reasoned out, which Glydel only made fun of.

During their interview, the two recalled how they got to know each other better while they were working on the series “Del Tierro.”

“Nung kasama ko na siya sa taping, she’s different. Hindi siya ‘yung the regular na nakikilala ko,” Tonton said. “Tahimik ka eh, ‘di ba?”

Meanwhile, Glydel admitted she was a bit wary of being close to Tonton because of her past rift with Annabelle Rama, Tonton’s stepmom.

Eventually, Glydel and Tonton became a couple and waited six years before tying the knot.

They shared with Tito Boy how a petty spat had them returning each other's things, seemingly ending their love story.

But "siguro after mga three days, nag-page siya sa ‘kin ulit, ‘Can we talk?’ We talked,” Glydel said.

They interview had the couple admitting whether or not they fought over money (they don't), whose gotten jealous over the other's co-actors (Glydel), if they fought over time (Glydel answered yes, Tonton answered no).

After making up, the couple decided to get married and started planning everything.

“Hindi ko alam na pregnant na pala ako habang nagpe-prepare kami ng wedding. Five months akong pregnant kay Aneeza,” Glydel said.

Previously, Tonton said that it’s important for couples to simply enjoy their journey.

“Enjoy the journey of being married, of married life, especially (because at first there will be) turmoil, adjustment period, but as you go along, you get to know each other,” he said.
