Dingdong Dantes responds to rumors about fathering a child with Lindsay De Vera: 'It is not true'

Dingdong Dantes has responded to the rumors that said he had a child with Lindsay De Vera.

On Thursday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Kapuso Primetime King straightforwardly said that it is not true.

“Wala po,” he said. “Hindi po totoo.”

[I don't have a child [with Lindsay De Vera]. It's not true.]

“Sa totoo lang eh nagdadalawang isip talaga ako kagabi kung may sasabihin ba ako about the topic and the issue kasi alam kong baka tanungin ninyo eh. Pero para sa akin po kasi, dahil may mga tumatawag na po sa ‘kin na mga kaibigan, mga kamag-anak, ‘yung mga nagmamalasakit po sa ‘kin, and because I have a responsibility dito sa aking mga mahal sa buhay, responsibilidad ko na klaruhin ang isyung ito dahil mahalagang mahalaga po ang aspetong ito para sa akin,” Dingdong said.

[To be honest, I was having second thoughts last night on whether or not I should talk about the topic and the issue because I know you will ask. But because people have been calling me — my friends, my relatives, people who care — and because I have a responsibility to my loved ones, it is my responsibility to clear the issue because it touches a very important aspect of my life.]

“I love my wife, I love my family very much, my kids. That’s why I’m saying that it is not true,” Dingdong said, adding he and his wife Marian Rivera, would just laugh at the rumor back then.

The actor is also wondering why the topic is not dying.

“Mahirap magbigay ng mga spekulasyon tungkol diyan dahil sa totoo lang, first time ko na mapunta sa ganitong sitwasyon,” he said.

[It's hard to give speculations about it because to be honest, this is the first time I've been put in a situation like this.]

Tito Boy recalled the rumor started four years ago but just resurfaced on the internet again in recent days.

Lindsay already responded to the issue in 2021 and planned to file charges against those who took part in spreading the rumors, saying “Malakas po loob ko to tell them, to ask them to come forward with proof if they can. Patunayan po nila na nabuntis ako ni Kuya Dong. (I'm confidend enough to tell them, to ask them to come forward with proof if they can. Prove Kuya Dong impregnated me.)"

In the same year, Marian said that she just shrugged the issue off.

"Tawang-tawa talaga ako 'tapos niloko ko siya, sabi ko, 'Ano ba 'yan, ang daming buntis-buntis.' Sabi ko, 'Beke nemen, baka ako ang susunod diyan.' Tapos tawa siya nang tawa," she said.

[I was really laughing. I was teasing him, 'why are there so much talk of pregnancy?' I said, 'I might be next!' He would also laugh about it.]

Dingdong and Lindsay worked together on the GMA show "Alyas Robin Hood" in 2017. The following year, Lindsay worked on "Victor Magtanggol."

"Kung nabuntis po ako, dapat noong 'Victor Magtanggol' pa lang nakikita na nila na lumalaki ang tiyan ko... but I still did projects, I still did guestings," said the actress.

[If I was pregnant, my baby bump should've shown during 'Victor Magtanggol.' But I still did projects. I had guestings.]

Lindsay lied low from showbiz in 2018 to focus on her studies.

Marian and Dingdong tied the knot in 2014. They welcomed Zia in 2015 and Sixto in 2019.

The actor just renewed his contract with the GMA Network on Thursday.
