Gigi De Lana mourns death of her mom

Gigi De Lana has announced the passing of her mom.

On Facebook, the singer shared photos of her mom, thanking those who prayed for her.

“Salamat sa lahat ng dasal niyo kay mama,” Gigi said. “She passed away at 9:19pm May 14, 2024.”

“Mahal na mahal kita mama. Pahinga ka na," she ended her post.

On Instagram, the singer posted more photos of her mother, including from the hospital. 

Fellow celebrities and friends offered their condolences to Gigi.

“Condolences, Ate,” Darren Espanto said.

“Hugs and prayers gigi,” Ogie Alcasid commented.

Last week, Gigi posted a video of herself at a gig, asking for prayers for her mom, who was in the ICU.

“I am regretting things that I didn’t do with my mom. I love her so much,” Gigi said.

“And please love your family kasi sila lang ‘yung nandiyan para sa inyo,” she added.

Last year, Gigi made headlines after she canceled a Nueva Ecija gig, following a vehicular accident en route in Ilocos Norte.

They continued with the set, but Gigi collapsed on stage, prompting them to cancel their succeeding shows.
