Lea Salonga pens loving message for child Nic on his birthday

Lea Salonga wrote a loving message for her only child, Nic Chien, on his 19th birthday.

Posting a portrait of them on Instagram, the theater star posted called Nic “the most precious human being in my little world.”

According to Lea, “The one who captured my heart from the word go. The one that made me realize how insignificant my life was, until that initial piercing cry at 12:12pm on May 16, 2006.”

Lea also turned sentimental at Nic turning 19 and his growth.

“With each step into adulthood, my heart grows in ways I couldn’t have predicted. That he is, with honesty and courage, growing into who he’s meant to be makes me incredibly proud,” she said.

“Happy Birthday, my Nic!!! I love you to infinity!” Lea said.

In a feature for People Magazine last April, Lea and Nic opened up about the "emotional" journey of self-discovery, transition, and parenting.

Lea and Nic are starring in the Philippine staging of “Into the Woods,” as the Witch and Jack, respectively.

"Into the Woods" opens at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati on August 7. Additional show dates were recently added due to overwhelming demand.
