Megan Young gets candid about milk pumping journey, says she cried in the beginning
Motherhood has no doubt been an emotional journey for Megan Young thus far.
On Instagram, the new mom got candid about her initial struggles with milk pumping, posting a video of her pouring breast milk into a bottle.
Megan revealed that she started off being able to pump only 10 mL of milk, and said it was "so frustrating in the beginning."
"Honestly, I cried the first time I had to pump my milk because I felt so much pressure to provide food for Leon. Since I didn’t have a lot of milk initially, I’m so thankful for all our friends and co-mommas that donated milk to our little one in the beginning," she wrote.
"It’s been quite the journey how to figure this whole side of motherhood. From taking anything with malunggay to downing clam broth, to eating oats and just doing anything and everything they said would increase my supply," she added.
Now, she's found that she is able to pump varying amounts depending on the time of the day, and gets the most milk in the morning at 98 mL.
"We’re all different and this just happens to be my journey. I’m happy and proud with what I’m able to provide for my little one! Fighting!!!"
Megan and Mikael Daez, who tied the knot in 2020, welcomed their firstborn, Leon, in May.
Since giving birth, Megan has been sharing her journey so far as a mom, including her childbirth experience.
