Shaira Diaz ribs EA Guzman in wedding vows: 'Magiging masaya ka na mamaya'
Shaira Diaz and EA Guzman grew emotional as they exchanged heartfelt vows during their wedding ceremony in Silang, Cavite on Thursday.
In his vow, EA reflected on their 12-year journey together, marked by shared joy, challenges, and growth as a couple.
"Twelve years ago, I met the woman who would change my life forever. Since then, every day, every month, every year has been a beautiful chapter in the story God has written for us," EA began.
"We laughed until our hearts hurt. We have cried through challenges. And we have grown into the people we are today, together," he added.
He then honored their choice to remain pure, emphasizing that love is built on discipline, respect, and commitment.
"Baba, we chose a path not everyone would understand. To wait. To honor God. And to honor each other by practicing purity. It wasn't always easy. But it was worth every moment. Because through the waiting, I learned that love is not just about desire, but about discipline, respect, and commitment," the actor said.
"And now, I have to say that every second of patience brought me to the most beautiful reward. And that's you," he added.
Declaring Shaira as his greatest gift and forever home, he vows to love her unconditionally, celebrate her victories, support her through hardships, and remain faithful for life.
"Today, before God, our families, and everyone we love, I vow to love you without condition, to cherish you without measure, and to remain faithful to you for the rest of my life. This is what I always say. I will celebrate your victories as if they were my own," EA said.
"And I will hold you through your lowest times. I promise to honor the years we shared and make the years ahead even better. Shaira Dela Cruz, you are my greatest gift."
Ending his vow, EA called Shaira his "forever home," and his "only one" for the rest of his life.
"God knows how much I love you. I will always be here. I miss you every day. I love you for the rest of my life. I love you so much," he ended.
Like EA, Shaira also reflected on their 12-year relationship, recalling the love, patience, and support EA consistently showed.
"From this day forward, you'll never have to wait again. My love, we made it, we're finally here," Shaira began.
"Standing in front of you today, I can't help but think about all the moments that led us to this one. The laughter, the challenges, the countless ways you've shown me love. I still remember our little gold smile," she added.
The Kapuso Morning Sunshine fondly recalled their younger days, when EA would give her flowers or food with a simple note that read, "Smile" as a quiet reminder that, no matter what was happening, he always wanted to see her happy.
"At sa 12 years natin, hindi nagbago 'yun. You always make sure na okay ako. Doon palang alam ko na, alam ko na hindi ako mapapagod. Hindi ako mapapagod kasi karamay kita at kasama kita. At alam ko na hindi mo ako pababayaan. At diyan kita minahal," she said.
She then described EA as her safe place—but beyond the comfort he provided, he gave Shaira even more reasons to love him through his deep respect for her.
"You love me. You love my family. You love me patiently. You accepted me. You let me grow. You embraced my whole family. You kept the promise you made to my parents," Shaira said.
She also thanked EA for waiting for her for 12 years, expressing how proud and forever grateful she is that they kept their promise to the Lord.
With love and certainty, Shaira vows to stand by him, never let him wait again, and spend the rest of her life cherishing him as her husband, best friend, and greatest blessing.
"I promise, from this day forward, you'll never have to wait again. I love you. I will stand beside you. You'll always be my greatest blessing, my husband, my best friend, and I'll spend the rest of my life loving you," she said. "Magiging masaya ka na mamaya!"
Earlier in the day, the "Unang Hirit" host shared a glimpse of her preparations for her wedding on the morning show, saying that she got to sleep at 2 a.m. today because she finished writing her wedding vows.
Shaira and EA have been engaged since 2021, but only publicized it in 2024. Shaira previously shared that she wanted to marry EA after completing her college degree, a goal she achieved in August that year.
The couple also vowed to remain celibate until marriage, with EA admitting that it was difficult at first.
They marked their 12th anniversary in February, their last as boyfriend and girlfriend.
