Shaira Diaz after wedding with EA Guzman: 'Ito na 'yung start, Day 1'

Shaira Diaz and EA Guzman finally tied the knot on Thursday after 12 years of being together, and they're so ready to start their new chapter.

In an interview that aired on “Unang Hirit” on Friday, EA said after the ceremony, “Wala akong masabi kundi napaka ganda ng aking asawa.”

Shaira said that they are blessed to have good weather on their wedding day.

“We prayed for this, ang daming nagdasal para sa araw na ‘to, so thank you. Masaya rin kami na ang daming nagpunta at nag-celebrate kasama kami,” she said.

The Morning Sunshine then told EA, “I can’t wait to be with you for the rest of my life. Ito na pala ‘yun, start na. Day one.”

Guests also gave their congratulations to the newlyweds.

“Congrats EA and Shai. Finally, matutupad na ‘yung pangarap ninyo. Maraming nag-te-tease sa inyo na matagal niyo nang hinihintay ‘yun, ‘yun ang magka ninong na kagaya ko. Congratulations,” Michael V. said.

Jean Garcia said, “Finally, after 12 years, ito na. Talagang meant kayo for each other. Ang ano ko, more happiness, magandang pagsasama at syempre maghihintay ako dun sa ‘yung mabubuo ng inyong pagmamahalan.”

Dennis Trillo said, “Congratulations sa inyo. Sana magsama kayo habangbuhay. ‘Wag kayo maghihiwalay and God bless you both, congrats."

The “Unang Hirit” barkada, who was in full force at the wedding, also congratulated the couple.

“I’m very happy sa Morning Sunshine namin dahil nasa ‘Unang Hirit’ siya, mag-boyfriend na sila eh and nalaman ko ‘yung love story nila. Nakakabilib for 12 years, ‘yung respeto nila sa isa’t isa,” Arnold Clavio said.

Suzi Entrata-Abrera said, “Alam namin ang love story that lasted 12 years and the love story continues as a married couple.”

Early on Thursday, Shaira shared a glimpse of her preparations for her wedding on the morning show, saying that she got to sleep at 2 a.m. today because she finished writing her wedding vows. 

Shaira and EA have been engaged since 2021, but only publicized it in 2024. Shaira previously shared that she wanted to marry EA after completing her college degree, a goal she achieved in August that year.

The couple also vowed to remain celibate until marriage, with EA admitting that it was difficult at first.

They marked their 12th anniversary in February, their last as boyfriend and girlfriend. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
