Glaiza De Castro reveals husband David Rainey learned Filipino for her family
Did you know that Glaiza De Castro’s husband, David Rainey, learned Filipino for her family?
In a recent episode of “Your Honor,” the Kapuso actress shared the adjustments her Irish husband made to make their relationship work, which include taking Filipino language classes.
“Ayun pa, siguro isa ‘yun sa mga adjustments ni David, 'yung language, kasi nag-aral siya ng Filipino,” Glaiza shared.
According to the “Encantandia” star, David took the language class to communicate with her family well.
“Ginawa niya raw ‘yun para mas makapag-communicate with my family. Kasi ‘yung parents ko, hindi naman nila first language 'yung English. Tapos may accent pa siya,” she added.
Not only that, but David also asked her parents for her hand in marriage in Tagalog.
“Tapos ito pa, nung time na, ano, magpo-propose siya sa akin, nag-video call siya sa parents ko, hiningi niya 'yung kamay ko, in Tagalog,” she said.
Glaiza and David got married in October 2021 in Northern Ireland. They held another wedding ceremony in January 2023 in Zambales.
In a previous interview, Glaiza said that she and David are now ready to have a baby.
Glaiza reprised her role as Pirena in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre." It airs weeknights on GMA Network at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it on YouTube via the Kapuso Stream.
She also appears in the Kapuso dance show “Stars on the Floor.”
