Ashley Ortega says she was unfazed by Mavy Legaspi's controversial breakup 

Ashley Ortega addressed the beginning of her relationship with Mavy Legaspi, saying she was unfazed by the surrounding controversy regarding his split from his previous relationship.

On Friday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Sparkle star was asked if she had any reservations of fears, knowing that he came from a controversial breakup.

“Wala naman po, Tito Boy. Hindi po talaga ako nakaramdam ng takot. Though I was aware of his past relationship, ano naman po, Tito Boy, ‘yung problema nila parang it's for them na. Parang I don't want to join already. And dedma na lang din kasi talaga ako, Tito Boy,” Ashley said.

For Ashley, the philosophy was simple: Whatever problems existed in the past should stay in the past.

“And ‘yung sa amin ni Mavy, when he was courting me, we were focusing on each other. And of course, focusing sa future na pangyayari. ‘Di na naman binabalikan ‘yung mga past,” she said.

When asked if she and Mavy’s ex-girlfriend, Kyline Alcantara, are friends, Ashley said, “We're not friends-friends na super close.”

She added that they maintain cordial relations and say hi to each other when they bump into one another.

“Sa Gala, nag-hi kami, kumustahan,” Ashley said. “Kasi magkatabi sila ni Barbie that time. Birthday rin ni Barbie noon. So, I greeted Barbie. Kumustahan. Parang, 'ang gaganda niyo girls tonight.' Gano’n lang.”

Ashley noted that while this interaction was happening, Mavy was elsewhere, saying hi to Vice Ganda and other “It’s Showtime” hosts.

Kyline and Mavy raised eyebrows in late 2023 after netizens noticed that the two stopped engaging and posting each other on social media.

In August 2024, Kyline finally addressed their split, saying she thinks everyone should move on from it.
