Ruru Madrid on Rere and Kai Sotto's relationship: 'Na-surprise na lang ako'

Ruru Madrid on Rere and Kai Sotto's relationship: 'Na-surprise na lang ako'

Ruru Madrid said he only found out that Kai Sotto was courting his sister Rere after they had already become a couple.

In his guesting on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on Monday with Rere, the Prime Action Hero said that he was surprised to find out that his sister and the basketball athlete are in a relationship.

As for Rere, the Kapuso actress explained that it wasn't her intention to hide her courtship with Kai from her Kuya.

Actually noong nandito si Kai parang twice lang ata sila nagkita," she said.

When Ruru found out about their relationship, the Sparkle star said he was shocked and felt weird at the same time because he was a fan of Kai in terms of basketball.

In fairness, mabuting tao si Kai," he said of Kai.

Ruru said that he used to be a strict Kuya when it comes to his sisters' suitors, as he was afraid that they would get hurt.

Kai and Rere hard-launched their relationship when they attended the GMA Gala in July 2024.

Since then, the couple has been sharing their sweet moments online, including some from their beach trips. They also spent Valentine's Day together.

The couple marked their first anniversary in May.

Previously, Kai expressed his love and gratitude to his girlfriend for her constant support after he suffered an ACL injury.
