Kim Atienza responds to comment blaming him for Emman's death
Kim Atienza responded to a comment on TikTok blaming him for the death of his daughter, Emman Atienza.
In a tribute post for Emman, Kuya Kim thanked the Lord for the 19 years of Emman's life and also wrote that, "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."
A user commented on his post, saying that he's misusing scripture to fit his own narratives.
"If you are truly in Christ, the Holy Spirit will convict you to repent for the ways you may have fallen short as a parent," the comment read.
"This is an open rebuke. You were meant to be her primary protector, teacher, and guide. Tragically, she was left without the support she needed from the one who was supposed to be her anchor," the comment added.
Kuya Kim responded to the comment, calling the netizen an "evangelical bully."
"My Emman did not make that choice as clearly as you make choices. My Emman was clinically depressed," he said.
Kuya Kim, along with his wife Felicia and children Jose and Eliana announced Emman's death on Friday through a joint post on Instagram. She was 19 years old.
Emman was a content creator. In her last broadcast message on Instagram, she opened up about social media pressures and her decision to take a break from TikTok.
Both Kuya Kim and Felicia have called for kindness following their daughter's passing.
@kuya_kimatienza The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” Thank you for the 19 years of my dearest little emmansky Lord.
