Ellen Adarna's exposé: 9 things we learned

Ellen Adarna's expose: 9 things we learned

Ellen Adarna broke the internet Monday after disclosing Derek Ramsay's alleged infidelity.

In a series of Instagram Stories that continued through Tuesday morning, the celebrity detailed how she found out about it three weeks ago and ultimately, how their marriage fell apart.

Allow us to list down a few things we learned from Ellen's Instagram expose.

1. Ellen did not confront Derek. Answering a fan's question, Ellen admitted she did not confront her husband about the issue. "He just found out here," Ellen said. "I never talked to him about it. The screenshots are enough," she added.

"If he still lies about it, oh my God. Ginas-light na nga niya ako. Don't tell me he's gonna gas light the whole world. The screen shots are there, the receipts are there," she adds.

In case you didn't know, gaslighting is a form of abuse wherein someone intentionally deceives another person into doubting their perception of their experience. It makes them not trust what they’re seeing or hearing.

But it is different from lying. In a 2021 interview, psychologist Dr. Anna Tuazon said, "not all lying is necessarily gaslighting. But when you make someone else doubt what they saw and doubt what they say, then that's what makes it gaslighting," she said.

2. Learning about the alleged infidelity made her feel validated. According to Ellen, throughout the relationship, "I was made to believe the side chick was just a friend, that what I felt was not real, that I was just acting jealous or crazy."

As such, learning about the alleged infidelity made her feel "Validated. I was right all along," she said.

3. They're no longer living together. Derek has moved out of their home, with Ellen staying put. Answering a fan's question, Ellen said, "yeah I'm still here because my house is still being renovated."

She adds, "Alanganaman palayasin niya ako dito, andito ang anak niya sa akin."

4. Ellen enlisted the local government's help. Answering a fan who asked how Derek moved out if she didn't confront him, Ellen said she called the barangay twice to intervene.

"Pina-barangay ko siya twice," she said, adding "We had an agreement months ago that he won't come back until I move out. Tutal I'll be gone forever."

5. John Lloyd is a good provider. When asked about her ex, John Lloyd Cruz, Ellen said, "wala talaga akong masabi."

"I have nothing but good things to say about him. I mean we had our differences in the past but I respect him because he's a very good provider. He's honest and a very present father," she continued.

To emphasize her point, she highlighted his actions following their separation: "Nung naghiwalay kami ni JL, that was before Elias turned 1 year old, present siya."

6. Derek was invited to their daughter's first birthday party. "He was sent an invite, OK," Ellen told a fan who asked, "Why did you let Derek miss your daughter's first birthday party?"

"He was playing frisbee or golf somewhere. He was sent an invite and two of his family went. His sister and his nephew. That's it," she added.

7. No one is battered. Ellen took the opportunity to correct rumors on Reddit about both of them being battered. "No one is battered" she clarified succinctly.

8. It's not Pernilla. Ellen clarified the other woman is not Pernilla, whom Derek defended earlier this year amid Andi Eigenmann's own revelations. It isn't also any of his ex-girlfriends.

Ellen describes the third party as a "side chick" — someone who's long been present in Derek's life.

9. Derek is convinced about a number of things. When Ellen was asked if Derek apologized, she said "He blames everything and everyone but himself. He was able to convince his friends and people that it's postpartum," she said.

Cleveland Clinic defines postpartum as "the period after childbirth...the first six to eight weeks after delivery, or until your body returns to its pre-pregnancy state."

In the same answer, she revealed how he believes in witchcraft being that "he's convinced that an ex-girlfriend made him kulam," she said.

As of Tuesday noon, Derek has yet to issue any statements on his social media. Neither has he responded to GMA News Online when it reached out to him on Monday.

The couple has been the subject of separation rumors for months now. Derek previously denied that he and Ellen have split.
