Sanya Lopez says Jak Roberto’s split with Barbie Forteza rekindled their sibling closeness

Sanya Lopez and Jak Roberto’s sibling bond has strengthened as the actress revealed that they’ve grown closer again following a brief strain in their relationship.

In Sanya’s GMA Integrated News interview with Nelson Canlas, which aired on “24 Oras,” Wednesday,” Sanya opened up about the time when she and her brother became less close due to personal misunderstandings.

“Nangyari ‘yun because of personal reasons. So may mga hindi pagkakaintindihan as magkapatid,” the Sparkle star said.

Eventually, the two were able to mend their relationship and grow close again as siblings.

“At the end of the day, kapag merong hindi magandang nangyari sa inyo pareho, pamilya pa rin ang nagsusuportahan sa isa't-isa. And bilang kaming dalawa ‘yung medyo magkapitbahay lang, bilang magkalapit lang naman kami, ako ‘yung mabilis niyang nakakausap,” Sanya said.

When asked if Jak’s separation from Barbie Forteza was among the reasons their bond returned, Sanya said, “Yes. Do’n rin nag-start na siguro, ako naman din as kapatid, kumbaga nandito ako to listen, willing to listen.”

The two recently went on a Japan trip together and Sanya said the experience made them feel like true siblings again.

“Ang sarap lang sa feeling na nagkaroon ulit kami ng bonding na gano’n tsaka ‘yung mas naging open lalo kami sa isa't-isa. Alam mo ‘yun? ‘Yung ang sarap sa feeling na magkapatid talaga kami.”

Barbie and Jak were together for seven years before their split.

Sanya said that she did not expect they would break up.
