Kuya Kim honors late daughter Emman Atienza with matching tattoo
Kuya Kim Atienza has paid homage to his late daughter Emman by getting inked with the same tattoo as her.
On Instagram, the TV host and anchor shared a photo of his arm that showed off his latest ink: a music note adorned with a butterfly. The tattoo was positioned next to his previous tattoos of his of his wife Felicia Hung and their children's names.
In the caption, Kuya Kim quoted the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, which Emman had quoted earlier: “Those who were dancing were thought insane by those who could not hear the music.”
The musical note tattoo was the same that Emman had on her ear. It was inspired by Nietzsche.
“This tattoo is just a reminder that I have the freedom to dance to the music I hear, regardless of whether people can hear it too," Emman said in a November 2024 interview with Toni Gonzaga.
Emman’s passing was announced by her family on October 24. She was 19 years old.
In what would be her last message on her Instagram broadcast channel, posted on September 1, Emman opened up about the pressures of social media.
In Kuya Kim's interview with Jessica Soho, aired on "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," he said he remains grateful for the "19 beautiful years" of Emman.
He also reminded parents about the seriousness of mental health during his interview with Vicky Morales in "24 Oras."
