Zia Quizon says she met her husband online; reveals she went to Serbia to make sure he's real
Zia Quizon revealed that she met her husband, Aleksa Rahul, online.
On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the King of Talk asked Zia for the details of her meet-cute with Aleksa, who is from Serbia.
The singer said she does not want to specify the platform where they first encountered each other.
"We just met naturally," she said. "Just through mutual interest organically online. It happens more nowadays, but it's also something that can definitely still be unsafe. You have to be very cautious."
"Sobrang praning din ako at that time," she said. "I'm not even on the mga apps or anything like that so I didn't know, ano ba 'yung protocol dito? Paano makipag-eyeball? How do I stay safe?"
Zia said she and Aleksa got along so she decided to go to Serbia to see him in person after a few months of talking.
"I was really like, 'Okay, I want to go there and make sure you're real,'" she said. "Baka ma-catfish ako dito."
She said Aleksa did not believe that she was coming at first, but she showed him her plane tickets to prove that she was really on her way to Serbia.
"And we met, and he was real, you know," she said. "And we hit it off."
The couple got married in 2022. Zia made headlines with her "proof of wife" and "proof of husband" posts in response to speculations about her husband's gender identity due to his name.
Zia is the daughter of Zsa Zsa Padilla and the late comedy king Dolphy. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
