Rocco Nacino, Kean Cipriano weigh in on cost of raising children
What can Rocco Nacino and Kean Cipriano say about the cost of raising children?
During their guesting in "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Tito Boy posed this question to the young celebrity fathers.
Kean, who is dad to Stellar, 9, and Salem, 6, said there are many factors to consider when raising a child or children.
"It's ridiculous," he said about the cost.
According to the the musician, he's already thinking about talking to his children about what it means to start a family as they grow older.
"Ako, like kapag kinausap ko ang mga anak ko sa pagtanda nila at mayroon silang fear na baka mabuntis nang maaga or magka-family nang maaga, it's not like about parang ano ka like nakakahiya 'yon or disgrace. It's more on like responsibility siya habang buhay. There's no way out," said Kean, who is married to Chynna Ortaleza.
"'Yun 'yong katotohanan kasi siyempre kahit naman komportable ang buhay n'yo, makikita mo 'yung mundo nagbabago every time eh," he added.
Meanwhile, Rocco shared that he and his wife, Melissa Gohing, are currently looking for schools for their three-year-old son, Ezren. The couple are also expecting their second baby boy.
"Ngayon nagre-research ako kung magkano 'yung mga school and everything. Tapos i-fafactor in mo pa 'yung traffic. So nag-iisip kami in the future saang school namin dadalhin ang anak namin. Ngayon nagwo-wonder kami na baka OK ang homeschool dahil nga may mga bullying issues tapos yung logistics," Rocco said.
He also said that he knows people who don't want to have children because of the country's current situation.
"May mga kakilala din kami na ayaw mag-anak dahil nga ang sama-sama ng sistema natin dito sa Pilipinas which we really need to improve," the Kapuso actor said.
Echoing Rocco, Kean said that the country’s broken system is disheartening when it comes to raising a family.
"Siguro isa sa mas mabigat doon, more than the gastos is 'yung nakikita mo 'yung bulok na sistema na ginagalawan n'yo ng pamilya mo at 'yon 'yung kinakalakihan n'yo lahat," he said.
Kean and Rocco are set to reprise their respective roles as Josh and Torran in Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Bar Boys: After School," the sequel to the iconic 2017 film by Kip Oebanda. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
