Vice Ganda bares plans to have kids via surrogacy but struggles stepping away from 'It's Showtime'
Vice Ganda shared that she and Ion Perez want to start a family and have already begun discussing the process.
In a YouTube interview with Karen Davila, the “It’s Showtime” host said they are considering surrogacy using her own genes.
“We want to. We both want to,” Vice said. “Sabi, ‘Mas maganda ‘yung sayo. Matalino ‘yung sa ‘yo,’ gumaganon siya lagi.”
Vice explained that doctors advised her to rest for three months before proceeding, citing her age — 49 — and overall health. Stress and exhaustion can affect the process.
But for Vice, taking a prolonged break poses a challenge, admitting that stepping away from “It’s Showtime” for three months would be difficult, not because of income, but because of her deep attachment to the program and its people.
“Kung kita't kita lang rin naman parang kaya ko namang magpahinga ng three months. But I cannot leave Showtime. Hindi dahil sa ‘yung kita ko mawawala. ‘Yung laging—hindi naman sa pagmamayabang—pero ‘yung sa sobrang pagmamahal ko sa Showtime, parang what's going to happen to Showtime if I'm not there for three months?”
Vice shared that even during short absences, she continues to monitor the show and worries about its day-to-day operations.
“Sa sobrang pagmamahal ko din dun sa pamilyang ‘yon, ang hirap silang iwanan. Hindi nila kasalanan ah. Kasalanan ko 'to, sa akin 'yun, na parang grabe ko silang mahal,” she said.
Despite this, Vice acknowledged that she would eventually need to make a decision if she wants to move forward.
“Kailangan ko talagang magdesisyon at kumbinsihin ‘yung sarili ko na you have to let go of Showtime for three months. Bago ko kasi gawin ‘yun, three months akong rest, tapos tsaka nila ako kukunan para healthy. Tapos every now and then, kailangan kong bumalik-balik doon,” Vice said.
Vice added, “I want kids because I love kids. Gusto kong magmahal ng bata. Gusto kong yumakap ng bata. Gusto kong mahalin ‘yung bata. Gusto ko ring tumanggap ng pagmamahal doon sa bata.”
When asked about adoption, Vice said it remains an option, but, “Mas gusto ko lang ‘yung akin.”
