Carla Abellana hopes to start a family with husband soon: ‘If God permits'

Carla Abellana is ready to focus on building a family with her husband, Dr. Reginald Santos, following their wedding.

According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Wednesday, among the newlyweds' immediate plans are their honeymoon in Europe and starting a family.

“Hopefully, ‘di ba makapag-start na kami mag-build ng family if God permits. ‘Yun ang focus bilang the clock is ticking din, ‘di ba? Mag-f-forty na 'ko this year,” Carla said.

They are also considering in vitro fertilization as a backup plan. Last year, Carla had opened up about her journey towards freezing her eggs.

“Let’s say kung hirap man kami na mag-conceive naturally, at least merong ganong backup, merong ganong option,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Carla acknowledged the role of timing and personal growth in rekindling her relationship with Reginald.

“Of course, time heals all things na hindi lang naman time ang lumipas. Kumbaga ang dami kong pinagdaanan para mag-improve, para matuto, para mag-heal. So I guess malaking factor ‘yun kumbaga kasi kung let's say napaaga ‘yung pag-reconnect naming dalawa or what, iba ‘yung kalalabasan. So I think ‘yung timing talaga,” she said.

Carla and Reginald tied the knot on December 27. In her vows, Carla called him her “first and last” love.

Carla confirmed her engagement with Reginald earlier in December, teasing a photo of her ring-clad hand.

In October, she addressed rumors that she was getting married, saying, "I would like to keep it private."
