Sarah Lahbati opens up about single motherhood amid legal separation
Sarah Lahbati admitted that raising her two sons while going through a legal separation comes with many challenges.
In Kylie Verzosa’s video podcast "Almost Honest," Sarah said navigating life as a single mother requires balancing many responsibilities at once.
“It's like all these different things at the same time, and you want to make sure they grow up to be kind and are doing well in school and are good boys and are gentlemen and ‘little men,’ eventually. And then all these other challenges,” she said.
“All those things, it's hard, but when you go back to ‘Why am I doing this? What's my focus?’ It's my children, and so it ends up being, you know, OK, I can do this,” she added.
Sarah also discussed the importance of showing her children that it’s OK to express emotions.
When asked if she feels pressured to always appear strong in front of her sons, Sarah said, “No, but that's something I've had to learn, like to be OK with being vulnerable in front of them.”
“As I grew older, I realized how important it is to actually show real deep feelings and how it's OK to cry in front of them. Like, I've cried in front of Zion and Kai, and I just explain, obviously, you don't want them worried also. So you just explain,” she added.
Sarah and Richard Gutierrez sparked breakup rumors in January 2024 when they unfollowed each other on Instagram. The same month, Sarah moved into a new home.
She later confirmed the rumors and said that she and Richard are "okay," and that she's "holding up pretty well."
