Kris Aquino on doctor ex-boyfriend: 'Without him, I would no longer be here'

Kris Aquino expressed her gratitude to her doctors, including her ex-boyfriend Dr. Michael Padlan, for everything they have done for her as she battles nine autoimmune conditions.

On Instagram, Monday, Kris said she is now settling at her new home after staying six weeks at the hospital.

The Queen of All Media thanked her doctors one by one and stressed the role of Dr. Michael, who was "one call away" on Christmas and facilitated her confinement.

"I am forever indebted because without him, I would no longer be here," Kris said.

"We didn't work as a couple, but we do work as physician and patient because Dr. Mike knows me and how my body works; he has seen and continues to witness me at my weakest and instinctively knows which doctors I will get along with."

Kris posted about her breakup with Dr. Michael in March 2025. She said he did not love her and he chose to leave when her autoimmune conditions were multiplying.

His son, Miguel, later took to social media to defend him from "false stories" being spread about him. Miguel also said his father truly loved Kris and gave so much of his time and energy to her.

Meanwhile, Kris is looking forward to launching her planned podcast.

"I'm slowly getting back the old 'say-it-like-it-is, ready-to-laugh, even-at-herself' me. Once I get my medical clearance, I'll be ready for my #KrispPodcast," she said.

Kris left for the United States in 2022 to seek treatment for her autoimmune conditions. She returned to the Philippines in 2024.
