According to the Miss Earth 2004, she went to Brazil in 2024 to file for divorce. This was prior to her “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview exactly a year ago in February 2025, where she had clarified to Tito Boy that she and John were still legally married.
“We are no longer married, which means bilang isang foreigner may karapatan ako to divorce my husband, so last year I went to Brazil and started the process of divorcing him. Actually, not last year, 2024, bago ako mag-guest dito [in 2025], I already went to Brazil and I didn’t announce to anyone kasi ayaw kong magsalita ng mga bagay na hindi pa napapatunayan,” Priscilla shared on Friday.
“I wanted to be ready so when I open my mouth, it’s a fact. So I went to Brazil, I process the papers I needed to process. I left a power of attorney to my lawyer to apply for divorce,” she continued.
Priscilla shared that she decided to divorce John after 14 years because she no longer sees herself sharing a life with him anymore.
“For me, the marriage is no longer valid, I don’t see myself sharing a life with that person anymore," she said. “I fought for 14 years and I got to the point where hindi ko na kaya and I realized after a lot of things that happened, the best thing for me is to really move forward mag-isa."
According to Priscilla, John was not happy about her filing for divorce, so she had to explain to him why she did it.
“He was not happy. The first sentence he said was ‘Pri, bakit ginawa mo ‘yan?’” she said.
“And sinabi ko sa kaniya, because as I’ve told you, I don’t see myself sharing a life with you anymore, and I don’t think there’s a reason to stay married to you if I don’t see myself with you as my partner, as my companion. I don’t see a future with you.”
John and Priscilla sparked separation rumors in July 2024 when the beauty queen left a cryptic comment on her husband’s Boracay post.
"Looking very divorced, Mr. Estrada @Lily Hallman_," the Miss Earth 2004 said.
Priscilla also commented the same username when a netizen asked who was the actor's companion in his visit to Boracay.
Following this, John issued a statement, admitting that he and Priscilla have "mutually agreed to take a break."
He also cleared the name of Lily Hallman, whom he said he only met in Boracay, adding that he is not in a relationship with her or any other woman.
John likewise slammed fake news peddlers who allegedly fabricated statements using his name after his Boracay vacation.
However, Priscilla refuted John’s statement, saying that there was never any "mutual agreement" regarding their separation.
"We were married when I left the Philippines and we remain married as of this time," she had said. "While there is indeed more to this story, it is not the appropriate time to delve into those details. Regardless of what those may be, however, it won't change the course of faith."
Priscilla and John got married in 2011. They have one daughter, Samantha Anechka, who was born in 2012.
