Gee Canlas says she is focusing on self-love, being a solo parent to son Caleb

Gee Canlas is in her self-love and healing era, focusing on showing up for herself and her loved ones, including being a solo parent to her son, Caleb. 

In Athena Imperial’s “Unang Balita” report on Friday, Gee shared that her heart is on the mend, noting that she is not fully okay yet. 

“My heart is this," she shared, gesturing to her son, Caleb. "It's better. It's healing. I wouldn't say na I'm at a place na sobrang 100% gano'n, but I have a very faithful God who helps me in my everyday. I think naman I'm getting stronger every day." 

Per the report, Gee is thankful to her trusted friends for being her support system as a single mother to Caleb. 

“I'm a solo parent. Yes. I don't want to say any specifics about the situation. Gusto ko lang move forward na tayo. How do I turn this situation for good so I can be the best for Caleb, for my son?" she said. 

On Instagram on February 5, Gee shared sultry snaps of herself from a photoshoot and greeted herself with a "Happy Rebirthday." 

In her post, she wrote that she is choosing to love herself following a rough 2025 — a year when she "lost parts of myself, held on longer than I should have, and learned the hard way what it costs to keep showing up while quietly disappearing." 

"I’m no longer making myself smaller for anyone. I want to show up more.  For myself, for Caleb, for the people I love, and for the work that’s always felt like home to me. That’s the only way I can be fully me as a daughter, sister, a friend, a woman… as a solo parent," she wrote. 

Gee currently stars in “House of Lies," where she plays the role of Hannah, a friend of Marjorie, portrayed by Beauty Gonzalez. 

“I do provide a little relief for Marge kasi ang bigat talaga. So syempre sa totoong buhay, 'pag meron kang mabigat na pinagdadaanan, may tinatakbuhan kang kaibigan,” she said in Imperial's report.

“So pag gano'n, you try your best to cheer her up in a way na dinadamayan mo pa rin siya, vina-validate mo pa rin 'yung nararamdaman ng tao. I don't have a big circle, but I do have a trusted circle." 

Gee married actor Archie Alemania in 2018. They welcomed Caleb in 2019.
