Ashley Ortega tears up while talking about relationship with mom

Ashley Ortega could not help but turn emotional when she talked about her relationship with her mom on "24 Oras."

The "Apoy sa Dugo" star said that it's not easy not talking to her mother for three years and leaving home.

"I left without saying anything, I left without saying goodbye," Ashley said. "Hindi ko rin naman talagang intention lang na iiwan lang si mom, I just needed space for myself to grow. Sometimes kasi, 'pag nagiging toxic na 'yung environment, naapektuhan na talaga ikaw mentally, and that's what happened to me."

"Siya siguro, she's still in the process of accepting na kaya ko na mag-isa."

Ashley also said that she is sorry for what she did and prays to God that her mother heals.

Turning emotional, Ashley said the first thing she did when she got evicted from "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" was reach out to her mom.

"Talagang nag-reach out ako but again, hindi rin talaga madali 'yung sa nangyari sa kanya so I have to step back muna para lang hindi ma-trigger ulit," she said.

"Of course, she's still my mom. And it's hard na, you know, not having a relationship na fully okay pa with someone you love."

Ashley said she has learned a lot from her situation.
