Derrick Monasterio admits seeing other girls while getting to know Elle Villanueva

Derrick Monasterio admitted to seeing other girls as he was getting to know his now-girlfriend Elle Villanueva.

During their guesting on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” Friday, the Kapuso real-life couple talked about their love story.

“Kasi before Tito Boy ‘yung time na parang nagiging close na kami, eh siyempre bata pa ako, lumalandi pa ako sa iba. Tapos nagagalit siya sa akin. Wala kaming label. Basta ang sama ko sa kaniya noon,” Derrick admitted. 

[When we were becoming close, I was still young then and was flirting with other people. She would get mad at me. We weren't together yet. I was very bad to her.]

When Elle didn’t talk to him, it made Derick realize he should stop what he was doing.

“Tapos one time — kasi lagi kaming nag-uusap 'di ba — 'di niya ako kinausap. Biglang 'di na lang siya nag-message sa akin tapos doon ko na-realize na, 'hala gusto ko pala ‘to. Tigil ko na itong ginagawa ko',” he said.

[We were always talking, right but one time, she stopped talked to me. She just suddenly stopped messaging me. That was when I realized I liked her and I should stop what I was doing.]

When asked why he went on dates with other girls, the Kapuso actor admitted he hadn’t seen Elle’s worth at that time. 

“Siguro at that time, hindi ko pa talaga nakikita yung totoong value ni Elle, nung time na yun. Pero nung nakita ko na, I got to know her a little deeper. Doon na ako nagbago na talaga,” he said.

[Maybe at that time, I didn't see Elle's real value. But when I did, when I got to know her a little deeper, that when I really changed.]

Elle and Derrick confirmed their relationship in 2023. On "Fast Talk," they admitted to not having an exact anniversary date. 

"Hindi namin alam. Basta, magka-developan kami. Minahal namin isa't isa. Tapos ayun,” Derrick said. 

[We don't know. It just happened. We developed feelings and just loved each other. That was that.]

“Since hindi namin alam yung anniversary namin, ang ginawa na lang namin is pumili kami ng date na ito yung anniversary namin. At ang date ay June 12. Independence Day. Para walang work. Di ba? Pwedeng mag-date,” he said.

[Because we didn't know when our anniversary was, we randomly chose a date. That was June 12, Independence day. That's a holiday, which is perfect so we can always go on a date.]

Derrick and Elle are set to star in the upcoming Kapuso Afternoon Prime drama  "Apoy Sa Dugo," with Ashley Ortega.
