Jeric Gonzales says breakup with Rabiya Mateo a mutual decision

Jeric Gonzales addressed his breakup with Rabiya Mateo during his guesting on Monday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda."

The actor did not give details on the subject when asked by the King of Talk but said he has been single for a year.

"Si Rabiya kasi, wala siyang binanggit about sa topic na 'to, about sa breakup. So parang bilang respeto sa kanya, Tito Boy, ayokong magsalita about it," Jeric said.

He added that they fought for their relationship and that it was a mutual decision.

"But of course, there are things din mutually na nakapagsunduan din namin na parang kung ilalaban natin 'to, mas mahihirapan tayong pareho. Parang, we have to grow," he said.

Jeric also said that he and Rabiya remain friends.

In a message, Jeric thanked Rabiya for all he had learned from their relationship and for taking care of him.

"And of course, she loved me for who I am," he said. "I mean showbiz, it's very difficult na magkaroon ng relasyon, but lahat inintindi niya 'yon. Malawak siyang tao, si Rabiya."

Jeric also has an apology to Rabiya.

"Sorry kasi sana nga masamahan ko pa siya ngayon sa lahat ng journey niya," Jeric said. "I'm proud of her, and I wish her all the best pa rin sa lahat ng ginagawa niya."

Jeric and Rabiya confirmed they were dating in March 2022. They broke up but later got back together.

In 2024, Rabiya denied rumors that they had broken up again.
