Carmina Villaroel, Zoren Legaspi admire son Mavy’s GF Ashley Ortega: ‘Mahal namin siya kasi ang bait’

Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi are all praises for Ashley Ortega, expressing their admiration for their son Mavy Legaspi’s girlfriend and the kindness she shows their family.

On Thursday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Carmina spoke candidly when asked if they like the Sparkle star.

“We love her. Mahal namin siya kasi ang bait,” she said.

Zoren also shared that, as parents, they believe in supporting whoever their child chooses to love.

“Kasi ang unang basehan kasi dyan is, as a parent, siyempre kung sino ‘yung mahal ng anak mo, dapat mahalin mo rin. Kung hindi mo mahal, dapat matutunan mong mahalin kung sino man ang mahal ng anak mo. So, whether si Ashley ‘yan, whether si ganito 'yan, whether si ganyan, kung ‘yun ang nagpapaligaya sa anak namin, then so be it. Wala kaming problema doon,” he said.

Carmina, for her part, emphasized the importance of trust and giving their children the freedom to make their own choices.

“Dahil sa pagmamahal mo sa anak mo, dahil nagtitiwala ka sa anak mo, gusto mong ibigay ‘yung freedom na ‘yun. ‘Yung parang, OK, that's your decision, OK. Nandito lang kami para suportahan ka. And then we're just very happy na OK silang dalawa ni Ash,” she said.

She added that Ashley has built a close relationship with their family, including Mavy’s twin sister, Cassy.

“Si Ash malapit sa atin, pati kay Cassy. So, magaan, magaan lang,” she said.

Ashley confirmed her relationship with Mavy in February 2025. The two sparked dating rumors when they were spotted at Sinulog the previous month.

Meanwhile, the Legaspi family is starring in the Kapuso Afternoon Prime series “Hating Kapatid.”

It will air its final episode on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
