Carlos Yulo on his family: 'Wala 'kong galit sa puso ko'

Carlos Yulo opened up about his relationship with his family during his guesting on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Monday.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist had a rift with his mother which was made public in 2024, but he recently celebrated his birthday in Pampanga with his siblings.

Asked how he is as a son, Carlos said, "Ginawa ko po 'yung part ko."

He added that he would ask God for the strength to talk to his family and explain what happened.

Wala naman pong problema," he added.

Carlos also said that he does not financially support his siblings' athletic careers after Tito Boy asked him about it. Like Carlos, his brother Eldrew and his sister Eliza are also gymnasts.

"Part po kami ng national team and hindi ko po responsibility to do that," Carlos said.

Meanwhile, Carlos' girlfriend Chloe San Jose shared that she has a good relationship with Carlos' siblings.

"Not to magbuhat ng bangko, pero it has always been me na nag-e-encourage even if he really didn't want to at the time when it was super crazy and talagang maingay and stuff, I have always been the one to encourage him na if you don't want to ano the other parts of your family, at least your siblings," she said.

In 2024, Carlos’ mother, Angelica, confirmed that they have a rift over alleged mismanagement of finances.

The gymnastics star said a "six-digit" incentive went into a bank account of his that his mother managed and said he didn't know it was received until he asked about it.

Carlos previously said he has forgiven his mother, while Angelica also hopes for reconciliation. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA Integrated News
