Sam Smith, Christian Cowan reportedly engaged

Sam Smith and fashion designer Christian Cowan are reportedly engaged after three years of dating.

According to an exclusive report by Page Six, the couple was “overheard talking about their engagement” at the Mark Hotel before heading to the Met Gala 2026 together.

Christian dressed Sam for the first Monday in May affair, with the singer donning an embellished black cape with feathered and tassel accents that emphasized texture.

On Instagram, Christian said the ensemble was inspired by Erté, dubbed the king of fashion illustration. It featured 255,000 individual crystals and beads and required 2,000 hours of artisanal hand sewing.

"This look is a love letter to the king of fashion illustration, and to my love, Sam," he said.
