Cooking blogger reimagines Instagram logo as chocolate cake

If Instagram hits the sweet spot for many photo lovers, it is only fitting that its logo be reimagined as a sweet chocolate dessert.

 

A blogger has posted online a recipe for an "Instagram Cake" made from chocolate mousse with chocolate glaze.

 

"Unless you have a blast freezer, this Instagram dessert needs to be made over a couple of days to allow time to freeze.  The advantage of this type of dessert lies in the fact that you can  make the whole dessert well ahead of time.  On the day that you need it pull it out of the freezer, glaze and garnish it and leave it in the fridge to defrost," said Ann Reardon.

 

Riordan's recipe, first posted on her blog post and on YouTube as early as June, was featured this weekend on Mashable.

 

Her recipe includes a rainbow jelly for parts of the logo, and a chocolate mousse for the top of the cake.

 

For its part, Mashable said the finished product is "worth it," even if the recipe could be time-consuming.

 

"While the recipe is time consuming and a bit advanced for the novice chef, the finished product is worth it. This cake is perfect for the most social-savvy friends in your stream," it said.  — ELR, GMA News
