Something new from Cronut inventor: Milk shots in cookie ‘glasses’
Fans of both the Cronut and the cookie are going to love this.
Dominique Ansel, the French chef and baker who invented the Cronut, has created a new dessert that will hopefully catch on all over the world this year: the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot. This is, quite literally, a shot of milk in a chocolate chip cookie “glass.”
According to food website Eater, Ansel first got the inspiration from eating his first-ever Oreo a few weeks back, with the encouragement to dip it in milk. It is apparently not “a natural combination in French culture.”
“Figuring that 'if everyone was drinking milk with cookies, you might as well make a dessert that allows them both to be combined,' Ansel has created a chocolate chip cookie recipe that 'stayed crispy and moist in parts' even as it held milk," Eater stated, adding that when asked if he would be offering the cookie shots at his SoHo bakery, Ansel replied, "We'll see!"
