Good news: UP's beloved Beach House set to open in new location

University of the Philippines' beloved Beach House barbecue is back.

 

Almost a month after the Beach House canteen was closed down at its original site near the Sunken Garden, UP Diliman's iconic barbecue place is reportedly opening again at another location in the campus.

 

A Facebook community page dedicated to the campaign against closing the canteen announced the reopening on Wednesday.

 

According to the post, the new Beach House will be serving the much-loved barbecue again starting on August 4 at Ocampo Street corner C.P. Garcia avenue.

 

"We will miss the Sunken Garden while eating barbecue but it's okay! What matters is that Beach House is open again," said the announcement.

 

Originally located at the back of the UP Main Library, the canteen has been closed down since July 9. Students, alumni, and local patrons rushed to get a last taste of the barbecue when news of the closing spread last month. — Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
