Churros place puts a twist on popular treat
We live in the age of food hybrids (from cronuts and crookies to ramen burgers) and food doubling as holders for other food (the "cookie glass", from cronut creator Dominique Ansel).
In the spirit of the latter, one enterprising restaurant in Quezon City is offering two desserts in one: churros and ice cream.
Mr. Churros on Scout Rallos has taken those delicious grooved sticks of fried pastry used to transfer molten chocolate to your mouth and transformed them into cups that carry any combination of ice cream, nuts, marshmallows, brownies, sprinkles, fruits and syrup to your waiting gob.
They also come in different flavors, including ube and matcha.
The restaurant was recently featured on Saksi's Midnight Express with Mikael Daez.
And purists need not worry: regular churros and warm chocolate sauce are still on the menu. Bon appetit! — BM, GMA News
