Don't get us wrong: We love authentic street food. But there are days when sitting on the curb and eating on the street just won’t cut it.

Enter these three restaurants with such creative takes on street food you might as well call them “leveled up.”

1. Café Amarela

Situated on Marikina’s Mayor Gil Fernando Avenue, Café Amarela is pretty popular these days for its a creative take on our beloved isaw. Check out its Crispy Isaw Fries (P148).

On Unang Hirit, Chef Vergel Barcelon showed that instead of the usual skewered goodness, Café Amarela boils the isaw in a special marinade, coats it in egg whites and flour, and then deep-fries it to perfection. The result is a delicious bar chow perfect with beer. An order of Crispy Isaw Fries (P148) is good for 2-3 persons. 69 Mayor Gil Fernando Ave, Marikina City. +63995 9153380. 11am-11pm

2. Locavore

The Kapitolyo original quickly made a name for itself thanks to its creative takes on Filipino food. Dinuguang lechon, anyone? Pakbet Ratatouille? Duck  Lugaw? None however is as grammable as its Street Food Platter (P190).

In a mini kaldero, turo-turo faves likes fish balls, squid balls, and kikiam are laid out mixed together with a few pieces punctured with barbecue sticks, the diners’ cue to, you know, make tusok-tusok. 10 Brixton St. Kapitolyo, Pasig. 11:30am-1am. +632 6329600

3. Chef Arch’s Lime

Three words for you: Chicharon Bulaklak Pizza. Chef Rex Abarquez shared on Unang Hirit a beautiful thin crust pizza serves as a formidable base to all the goodness. They cover it with tomato sauce, lots of cheese, and then the piece de resistance: chicharon bulaklak.

For added measure: Pork and chicken isaw are added.
