Fancy some white ube jam? That's what we can get from Good Shepherd Baguio in the mean time

It’s the only thing that’s changed.

Instead of the familiar purple color, the best-selling Good Shepherd ube jam from Baguio is now color white — at least for the time being.

Citing climate change, the Religious of the Good Shepherd said in a Facebook post that “our ube farmers are having difficulty growing ube. It has been our struggle in recent years to find a stable supply. And in the past weeks, there were none.”

“Now, our ube jam sports a new look. Yes it is ube jam, from white ube. Yes there is such a thing. And it is the available supply at the moment, and yes it is just as good as the purple one.”

While we’d love to get our hands on the creamy white ube jam, it is unavailable in the lowlands of Manila.

According to the sisters in the Quezon City store, they still carry the purple ube jam from their Tagaytay outpost. — LA, GMA News
