3 cafes in Metro Manila perfect for that all-important 'alone time'

If you're stressed and feeling a little worn out, why don't you take yourself out on a date?

Self-care is important. Not only will it make you more productive — it will reboot your brain — but more importantly, it will make you happier, healthier, and more resilient.

In case you're intimidated by the idea, guess what? Self-care shouldn't be expensive. You can take yourself out for a date, for instance; carving just an hour of me-time is a start.

"Good News" recently listed three cafes in Metro Manila perfect for solo dates.

1. Blocleaf Cafe (Malate, Manila)

This 22-square-meter cafe in Malate is very intimate and minimalist. Aside from its glass walls, that allow beautiful natural light in, the place is filled with plants and plays good music.

According to co-owner Reymart Cerin, the cafe is heavily-inspired by Japanese design thinking, but is still grounded on Filipino sensibilities.

Have a cup of joe, pair it with some cake, or if you're famished, enjoy their pasta dishes and sandwiches.

2. Laundrafe & Co. (Panay Street, Makati)

Want to be efficient on your me-time? Get laundry done while you sip your coffee.  Laundrafe & Co will let you do that.

Its interiors —  hand-painted paintings, the winter vibes, plus some reindeers — will make you feel like you weren't also running errands.

3. Campfire Burgers & More (Scout Limbaga, Quezon City)

If you want to feel like you're out of the city, Campfire's for you. It has that rustic and country vibes that will make you feel like you were far, far, far away from the city's stresses. Everything about it feels peaceful.
